SUSTAINABLE CITI - BUILT TO LAST

Self-sustaining resilient structure

Citi Housing is modeled on the self-sustaining resilient structure and function of natural ecosystems. It endeavors to provide healthy richness to its residents. Citi is designed with attention to environmental impact, and repeatedly educate its residents to minimize consumption of energy, water, and food, and also to avoid pollution of heat, air, and water.

Citi Housing gives importance to prevalent trends of sustainability in urban planning. It is guided by a sustainable planning and management vision that encourages green space, and energy conservation. Citi has made significant investment in construction of footpaths, green public spaces and provision of amenities for household usage:

  • Citi Housing has applied several methods to reduce the need for air conditioning, such as planting trees and promoting natural ventilation systems in houses.
  • Citi has designed waterfalls, water fountains and green spaces. These measures counter the "heat island effect" which has made Citi Housing several degrees Celsius cooler than center of busy cities areas.
  • Citi follow optimal building density to avoid the creation of urban heat islands.
  • Construction of sustainable underground sewerage system with low environmental impact to drain away dirty and rainwater through collection, storage, and cleaning before allowing it to be released slowly back into the environment, such as into water courses.
  • Citi emphasized on plants whose natural requirements are appropriate to the local climate, and care is exercised to avoid losing water to evaporation and overspill.

UNDERGROUND SERVICE CORRIDORE

Experience hassle free essential services

Citi Housing’s qualified and resourceful Engineering Wing has provided service corridors to carry buried utility cables of power and telecommunications and pipelines of natural gas, water, and sewage. Whatever residents need, Citi get them where they want it and when they want it.

Power & Telecommunications Cables: Citi Housing has undergrounded overhead power and telecommunications (fiber optics, cable television, and telephone) cables. Direct burial power cable is a special type cable that is designed to be run in a trench underground without the use of conduit to surround it. The electrical wires are encased in a thermoplastic sheath that seals out moisture and protects the wires within. Undergrounding cost of burying cables is several times greater than overhead power lines. Buried power lines are protected from the wind, tree damage and heavy rains that are common causes of outages, and so suffer fewer weather or vegetation-related outages.

Benefits of using underground cables:

  • Suitable for congested urban areas.
  • Small voltage drops.
  • Fewer faults.
  • Not susceptible to shaking and shorting due to vibrations, wind, accidents, etc.
  • Not easy to steal, make illegal connections or sabotage.

Underground Sanitary Sewer System Storm and sewer water, if left unmanaged, has the potential to cause unintended damage to residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Also, unmanaged storm and sewer water can harm pedestrians and the environment. Citi Housing has constructed an intricate underground network of sanitary sewer pipelines from multiple properties to a single treatment facility for disposal or redistribution. This system deal with black water (water contaminated with fecal matter/urine), greywater (wastewater from sources other than toilet: shower, sink, washing machine), and storm water.

Citi’s gravity sanitary sewer system guarantees hassle free waste disposal for the homeowners. There is no unpleasant odors or insects due to the containment of waste in closed underground pipelines. Maintenance Department consistently controls and refined Blackwater and greywater for reuse. In addition, system handles heavy flow of debris and solid waste. It can tolerate extreme hot/cold environments because of deep underground construction. Procurement Department always select best quality of pipes to avoid groundwater contamination

GRID STATIONS & GENERATORS

Self-generation of electricity to keep homeowners delighted

To maintain the life of the human community, and in order to facilitate the life, many important inventions were discovered. There is no doubt that the most important of these inventions is electricity, which we depend on in the current modern time. We better understand the importance of electricity in our life during a few minutes of power outages we encounter. The people’s social life almost stops in power outages. They do not know what to do. They cannot carry out activities thay made a habit of. For instance, computer and television, that we are addicted to, are the best examples of these. This is an indicator of how much electricity is important in our lives.

Planned and unplanned power failures may be short-term or a long-term loss of the electricity from SOURCE. There are many causes of power failures in an electricity network. Examples of these causes include faults at power stations, damage to electric transmission lines, substations or other parts of the distribution system, a short circuit, or the overloading of electricity mains.

Power failures are particularly critical during extreme hot and cold climate putting public safety are at risk. In order to eliminate consequences of a daily and frequent power outages, Citi Housing has made an elaborate arrangement for supply of uninterrupted electricity for domestic usage to provide peace of mind and improve quality of life of residents. Standby generating sets are selected based on the electrical load they are intended to supply, the electrical load's characteristics such as kW, kVA, harmonic content, surge currents (e.g., motor starting current) and non-linear loads. The expected duty (such as emergency, prime or continuous power) as well as environmental conditions (such as altitude, temperature and exhaust emissions regulations) are also taken into consideration.

Citi Housing’s power generation supported by state-of-the-art underground cables network is meant to ensure uninterrupted power supply to every household, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The amenity offers comfortable lifestyle where residents can enjoy every season and every moment of their life to the fullest.
